Couples photography in the middle of some of the roughest seas I’ve ever seen? Oh yeah. The waves were hammering the coastline, and gale force winds were pounding the shore. I was not overly optimistic about our chances for making good pictures. Luckily however, Kalk Bay is a little more sheltered from the wind, and the crashing waves made for a beautifully fluid backdrop, even if we were now unable to shoot on the harbour wall. But when you have people as awesome as Robyn and Gareth in front of the lens, little could’ve upset this, once we’d started shooting.
The Potters – A Couples Set
About Seoul photographer Tim Van Der Merwe
Seoul photographer Tim Van Der Merwe services Seoul and her greater area, with a primary focus on portraiture, couple and pre-wedding photography. His photographic style is inherently influenced by photo-journalism, with a love of genuine emotion and untouched, moments of humanity and expression. The aesthetics of his photographs are informed from years as a musician, a love of the ocean, an appreciation for a wabi-sabi outlook on life, and a love of strong colouring.
