And just like that, it’s 2018 here in Seoul, South Korea, the land of morning calm. As a photographer, the plan this year is to blog more regularly, not just to post work that I do, or trips I take, but to share some of my musings and thoughts on photography and art in general. I was challenged by a friend’s words the other day. He described his social media consumption as the challenge to post meaningful content, and it sat with me, because typically I just post my pictures or blog my work, without much thought.

The plan from here on out will be to blog bi-monthly at least, hopefully weekly. I’ll be posting my thoughts on trips, gear, individual images, composition and work that I do for clients. I’ve also got a bunch of work backed up from the winter that I haven’t shard yet. It should be an interesting year, as there is a lot going on, and the plan going forward to make the most of everything that comes this way.

About Seoul photographer Tim Van Der Merwe

Seoul photographer Tim Van Der Merwe services Seoul and her greater area, with a primary focus on portraiture, couple and pre-wedding photography. His photographic style is inherently influenced by photo-journalism, with a love of genuine emotion and untouched, moments of humanity and expression. The aesthetics of his photographs are informed from years as a musician, a love of the ocean, an appreciation for a wabi-sabi outlook on life, and a love of strong colouring.
